Defining user roles in company accounts

Important note

Only the InfoSum support team can create new users on the platform.Clients wishing to add or remove a user will need to fill in this form if they are being onboarded to the platform for the first time or contact their InfoSum representative to create additional users. Additionally, only the InfoSum support team can do the following tasks:

Add, amend or delete a company.
Add and delete company domains.
Turn on/off single sign-on.

Company accounts overview

Company accounts enable Datasets created within a company to be owned and shared by the company with its users. Once you have submitted our onboarding form, the InfoSum support team will promptly create a company account for you. Company accounts allow for control over user actions on Datasets, which can be configured by users with the appropriate permissions. By specifying an email domain via this form, users with that domain are automatically added to the company.

Each company has at least one "Owner" who manages the account, and multiple owners are allowed. The system includes a default "Owner" role with full rights. A user inherits rights based on the roles assigned to them by the owner of the company account or by the InfoSum support team.

Role templates

InfoSum typically defines the following distinct roles with specific rights, which will be configured according to the details outlined in this form for each company account:

Owner: Each company account must have one Owner to manage the whole account. The Owner will have all rights available to them.
Admin: This stakeholder will be in charge of allocating roles, and managing access and permissions overall. This role is usually also the 'Owner' above.
Technical User: These users will have access to your data management area and Cloud Vault interface in order to upload and automate refreshing your Dataset(s).
Business User: These users will have access to the collaboration platform but not the data management area. They will be able to accept and grant permissions as well as to run queries across Datasets in the UI.

This is a user’s right to perform an action on behalf of your company. A user inherits rights from the roles they have been assigned. Rights cannot be assigned directly to a user.

A company user sees only those parts of InfoSum Platform to which they have been given rights, as shown in the table below.
