How to push results to The Trade Desk
Important note |
This functionality isn't available as standard to all users. Please contact your InfoSum representative to learn more about how to gain access. |
After running an activation query, you can push the resulting file to create a targetable segment on The Trade Desk platform.
To push results to The Trade Desk, you will need to create a connection between InfoSum Platform and The Trade Desk seat. The query results will then be streamed to the destination and then the connection will be removed.
Before starting, you will need the following to hand:
- Trade Desk Advertiser ID
- Target segment name
- Trade Desk Secret key
You can activate results to a file using either Segment Builder or the Query Tool. Go to the Activation tab under Activate, where you will see some information about the campaign and its status. The total rows gives you an insight into the size of the dataset, before pushing it to the destination.
At the bottom of the page, you will see a box providing more details on the campaign, such as the query used and the name of the output column. There are three menu tabs within this box - Details, Export Configuration and Export History. Once you've pushed the results, the details and status will be viewable under the Export History tab.
For now, switch to Export Configuration and use the slider to enable The Trade Desk connector. The form below now appears.
The above form contains three different tabs, which need to be completed:
- Trade Desk ID Mapping
- Connection
- Time To Live
Trade Desk ID Mapping
This tab contains the following fields:
- TDID: Select the activation file output column to map to The Trade Desk ID
- DAID: Select the activation file output column to map to the raw device ID
- UID2: Select the activation file output column to map to the 256-bit UID2
- IDL: Select the activation file output column to map to the 49-character or 70-character LiveRamp IdentityLink. The LiveRamp IdentityLink has been mapped specifically for The Trade Desk
Select at least one field. A minimum of one column from the activation query must be mapped to the appropriate ID type. Output columns must only be mapped to an ID type once.
Connection
This tab contains the following fields:
- Advertiser ID: Enter your Trade Desk Advertiser ID
- Segment name: Enter the target segment name (this will be reflected as the segment name in your The Trade Desk seat. If adding to an existing segment, ensure the name is identical)
- Secret Key: Enter your secret key as provided by The Trade Desk
- Location: Choose either the location closest to the users targeted by your campaign or based on where the first party data originated from
Time To Live
This tab contains the following fields:
- Time to live in days - Enter how long IDs in the client’s segment in The Trade Desk will live for. NB, if this is set to 0, all ID records in the activation query results will be removed from the The Trade Desk segment
- Timestamp - the date and time The Trade Desk segment will start. You have two options:
-
- leave this field blank to use the date and time of the push request, or
- enter a new UTC timestamp to override the default value.
When you have completed all the required fields, click Save. When you select Save, the Activate button becomes clickable. Selecting this button begins the file stream.
Switch to the Export History tab to see the status and check for any errors. Once the status has a green tick, the file has been successfully pushed to the client’s segment in The Trade Desk.
If you are experiencing slower than expected import/export speeds and you're using a VPN or firewall that can block data upload or download, please refer to whitelisting IP addresses.
