UK address mapping
InfoSum Platform lets you map UK postal addresses in a source data file to the Address category in the Global Schema.
Mapping UK postal addresses to the Global Schema has a number of advantages:
- One key (called UDPRN) will be generated after normalization.
- Combination keys are created for UK postal addresses (for example, for “Address+Name”).
The street address mapping that you can access is based on your InfoSum plan. This is because not all InfoSum Platform features come as standard - please contact sales@infosum.com for details.
Validating
InfoSum verifies that the UK address is valid and complete.
Normalizing
When normalizing UK addresses, address lines, postcode, street and town are hashed to generate a single unique key called UDPRN.

Supported formats
- Always provide UK addresses in raw format.
- To match an address with its UDPRN, values are required in the Postcode, Street and Add1 (the house number) columns.
- You can supply either the address or the UDPRN, but not both.
Steps
Go to the Platform, create a Bunker and upload your dataset.
In preview settings, check that the source data file contains the address details.
You can perform some other optional minor manipulations to the source data here, please see this article for information.
Click the Accept Preview Config button, then New from the Create a new config box.
You can select any of your source columns to map to the postcode property in the Global Schema. If you supplied the address, your Add1 column should contain the house number. By default, your source columns for UK addresses are mapped to the Global Schema categories as shown in the table below.

If you supplied the UDPRN, you must deselect the other address columns and set UDPRN as the postcode property, as shown:
You cannot supply both the address and the UDPRN. If you supplied the UDPRN, none of the other representations of address can be populated.
Select Accept Wizard Settings. A unique UDPRN key is generated for each UK Address or, if you supplied the UDPRN, this is used to populate only the UDPRN field.
The Global Schema creates a ‘UDPRN’ key and combination keys for Address and any categories such as Name that cannot be used as a key in their own right, for example, ‘UDPRN::Forename’ and ‘UDPRN::FullName’.
You can view all keys created for Address in the Keys tab of the Normalize section of your Bunker:
If Name is in the source data, the Platform automatically combines this data with Address to make a combination key.
Click the Normalize button and then click the Publish button. The UK Address keys are now available on the Platform for the published dataset.
