Example permissions
Example permissions showing how another party can use your dataset.
Examples are shown for all combinations of permission settings. For a description of each permission setting, see the permissions overview.
View meta-data and assess the intersection with other datasets - In combination with datasets they own
Sent permissions
Example
The example below shows what the other party can see in Audience Builder if "YourDataset" is the dataset with this permission and "OtherPartyDataset" is a dataset owned by the other party.
As shown, an error is returned because the other party is not permitted to query your dataset. The other party can use the Connections List only to see statistical data for the intersection with your dataset and datasets the other party have uploaded. The other party cannot query the intersection using Audience Builder or the Query Tool.

Example
The example below shows what the other party can see in Audience Builder if "YourDataset" is the dataset with this permission and "OtherPartyDataset" is a dataset owned by the other party.
As shown, an error is returned because the other party is not permitted to query your dataset. The other party can use the Connections List only to see statistical data for the intersection with your dataset and datasets that other people have given the other party permission to use (for example, AutoSportsD) or datasets the other party have uploaded. The other party cannot query the intersection using Audience Builder or the Query Tool.
Query the intersection with other datasets - In combination with datasets they own

Example 1
The example below shows what the other party can see in Audience Builder if "YourDataset" is the dataset with this permission and "OtherPartyDataset" is a dataset owned by the other party.
As shown, the other party can only query the intersection between your dataset and their dataset where you have matching records. If the other party queries the union, a "query not valid" error message is returned.
The other party can also use the Connections List to see statistical data for the intersection with your dataset and datasets the other party have uploaded.
Example 2
The example below shows what the other party can see in Audience Builder if "YourDataset" is the dataset with this permission, "OtherPartyDataset" is a dataset owned by the other party, and KnowArc is a dataset that other people have given the other party permission to use.
As shown, an error is returned because the other party is not permitted to query your dataset with KnowArc, a dataset they have permission to use. The other party can also use the Connections List to see statistical data for the intersection with your dataset and datasets the other party have uploaded. The other party cannot see statistical data for the intersection of your dataset with KnowArc.

The example below shows what the other party can see in Audience Builder if "YourDataset" is the dataset with this permission, "OtherPartyDataset" is a dataset owned by the other party and KnowArc is a dataset that other people have given the other party permission to use.
As shown, the other party can query the intersection of their dataset with your dataset and the KnowArc dataset, which they have permission to use. If the other party queries the union, a "query is not permitted" error message is returned.
The other party can also use the Connections List to see statistical data for the intersection of their dataset with your dataset and the KnowArc dataset.

Example 1
The example below shows what the other party can see in Audience Builder if "YourDataset" is the dataset with this permission and "OtherPartyDataset" is a dataset owned by the other party.
As shown, the other party can query anything in your your dataset. The other party can also use the Connections List to see statistical data for the intersection of their datasets with your dataset (but not datasets the other party has permission to use).
Example 2
The example below shows what the other party can see in Audience Builder if "YourDataset" is the dataset with this permission, "OtherPartyDataset" is a dataset owned by the other party and KnowArc is a dataset that other people have given the other party permission to use.
As shown, an error is returned because the other party is not permitted to query your dataset with KnowArc, a dataset they have permission to use. The other party can use the Connections List to see statistical data for the intersection with your dataset and their dataset.

As shown, the other party can query their dataset with the whole of your dataset and the KnowArc dataset, which they have permission to use. The other party can also use the Connections List to see statistical data for the intersection with your dataset, their dataset, and the KnowArc dataset.
