Where to find your audience in ADM
Amazon Data Manager pre-requisites
The Amazon Data Manager (ADM) Destination supports exporting data to Data Manager where you can push audiences to Amazon DSP (ADSP). A connection with AMC is possible depending on your Amazon account set up, please reach out to your Amazon representative for more information. You must have an Amazon Ads account and a Manager Account with associated advertisers.
Permission level required: The user who authorises the account must have Editor or Admin permission levels in the manager account, or any other role that grants them the create/edit audiences capability. See Amazon Ads permissions support docs.
- MasterAccount_Manager
- ManagerAccount_Dev
- Ads_data_manager_edit
3. Accept Data Manager Terms and Create Data Room: Log into Amazon Ads Console > Navigate to Ads Data Manager > Accept terms (data room created automatically), or accept the terms via API.
For more information on Amazon ADM please visit their getting started guide.

|
You must authorise each manager account that you wish to use. Please note that each manager account can manage multiple DSP accounts. Each DSP Account can have multiple DSP Advertisers. Ensure that you are authorising the correct manager account for the advertiser to wish to use. You can check your setup in your manager account billing dashboard. Please reach out to your Amazon Ads team if you have any questions about your setup. |
Activation Keys
ADM supports the following keys - please ensure that you set one of the below keys as your activation key when setting up your activation query.
PII fields are automatically normalized and SHA-256 hashed before upload. See Amazon's normalization guidelines for details.
Note: Pre-hashed values (64-character hex SHA256) are detected and passed through unchanged. If supplying pre-hashed data, ensure it was normalized according to Amazon's guidelines before hashing to maximise match rates.

Step 1: Authorize InfoSum to send data to your Amazon account (OAuth2.0)
You need to authorise the connection between the platforms only once per Amazon account you wish to connect before creating an Amazon ADM destination in the InfoSum platform for the first time.
Note: The Amazon Ads and Amazon Data Manager Destinations share the same authentication grant.
- Go to Activate>Destinations>click Authorizations
- Give your Authorisation a name and select Amazon Ads from the list of Providers given. Click Authorise
- A pop up box will appear as the App Authorisation. Click Confirm
- You will be returned to the Authorisations page and the status against Amazon Ads will now show as Authenticated
You can now continue with the destination set up by going to activations>destinations and clicking ‘create new destination’.
Step 2: Configure the Amazon Data Manager Destination in the Platform
When creating an new destination, select Amazon Data Manager and the specific authorisation account. Please note that this destination will also require some settings to be specified at export time (see activating data below)
-
Manager Account ID: You can find this ID on you Amazon Ads Console → Administration → Account access and settings. Or on the top menu bar under the dropdown for your account:
-
Audience Name: 5-100 characters, must start with a letter, alphanumeric + underscore + hyphen only. Must be unique within your account as a new audience is created each push.
- We recommend toggling on this field as editable during export to prevent push failures due to duplicated audiences
- Please note that a new audience dataset and ‘dataSetId’ is created for each push
- We do not currently support any other function (such as append or delete) or TTL
- Region : Select from the drop-down list
Optional settings:
- Audience description
- ID retention: Determines retention of hashed data for 90 days and refresh of user-provided ID tokens. You will be able to map a column to the UID during export. More information about User ID requirements can be found here.
Complete all the mandatory fields and click submit. As the destination is reusable, all fields can be specified as editable/non-editable at the point of export to allow you to customize all specific exports.
Please note that any fields that you make editable at push time will be editable by companies that you share the destination with.
Once completed, this destination can be used in the export configuration.
Activating data to Amazon Data Manager
You can activate results to a Destination using either Segment Builder or the Query Tool.
- Navigate to Activation Segments & start an export
Once you’ve created the activation segment, go to the Activation Segments tab under Activate, where you can find all of the historic segments that have been created by your team for that collaboration. Please ensure you are in the correct Collaboration view at the top for the Activation you're looking for.
A ‘ready’ status shows that the query has been successful and is ready to be sent to a Destination. Activation segments are only ‘Ready’ for 36 hours, this is to ensure that you are always exporting the freshest data. You can easily refresh a segment by clicking ‘refresh’ in the details panel of each segment.
When you select an Activation segment, an information panel appears on the side of the page allowing you to view the segment and export it to a Destination with the correct permissions for that Collaboration.
You can click ‘Export’ to start a new export, or click ‘View’ / double-click on the activation segment name to view all exports associated with this segment.
2. Select your destination
After you click Export, a new pane will appear with a list of the destinations available for this segment. You will be able to see all the Destinations that your company owns or has permission to use for that Collaboration. Select your destination, and configure any custom fields.
Select your Amazon Data Manager destination
3. Configure the export
When you select the correct Destination, the pop up will show additional options, including column mapping if required and optional fields.
Amazon Data Manager requires some additional settings at this stage:
-
UID: Each record requires an External User ID, which Amazon uses for de-duplication. You have two options:
- Select an Output Column: Uses a specified column value which will always be SHA256 hashed by the InfoSum platform (even if it is already a hash) as the External User ID. Recommended for de-duplication.
- Generate a random UID column: Generates a random UUID for each row. Results in no de-duplication by Amazon.
- Add column mapping for one or more of the IDs that this destination can accept
- The following fields are required for compliance and consent purposes; see ADM’s consent management docs for more information. Both GDPR fields default to `Denied` if not specified:
- Add a country code: ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country code indicating where the data was collected.
- GDPR User data processing: Whether the user has consented to Amazon processing personal data for advertising purposes. Select granted/denied depending on the consent collection.
- This field is always required by Amazon. If you are operating outside of the EU, please mark this as granted
- GDPR Advertising ID storage: Whether the user has given Amazon consent to read or write advertising cookies or similar technologies. Select granted/denied/not applicable.
- This field is always required by Amazon. If you are operating outside of the EU, please mark this as granted or not applicable
4. Click Export Activation Segment to initiate the activation.
Where to find your audience in ADM
Customers can log into the Amazon Ads Data Manager console to view their audience and monitor processing status.
Amazon provides processing status details for each batch of records. We cannot guarantee how long this takes as it will depend on your internet connection and the volume of records sent - but will likely be up to 48 hours from the completion of the push.
