Activating data to Amazon
You can activate results to a file using either Segment Builder or the Query Tool. Once you’ve created the activation query, go to the Activation tab under Activate, where you will see some information about the campaign and its status. The total rows gives you an insight into the size of the dataset, before pushing it to the destination.
At the bottom of the page, you will see a box providing more details on the campaign, such as the query used and the name of the output column. There are three menu tabs within this box - Details, Export Configuration and Export History. Once you've pushed the results, the details and status will be viewable under the Export History tab.
For now, switch to Export Configuration, choose the destination options and choose Amazon.
Click Export to Destination to initiate the activation.
The activation will create a new audience if it doesn't already exist with the name you have given it. If an audience with that name already exists, the activation will append the existing audience with any new data.
Where to find your audience in Amazon Ads
On AMC you can find the audience …
- On the left menu, select ‘Amazon Marketing Cloud’ under the ‘Measurement and Reporting’ option.
- Select the ‘Instance’ you have pushed the audience to.
- Choose the ‘query editor’ from the top menu
- You can then use the querying to find the audience by audience name or time or one of the other parameters available in the query editor.
- The audience will then show as a result as in the screenshot below. (Note, this may take up to 24-48 hours to process and appear fully).
On Amazon DSP you can find the audience …
- In the Amazon Ads platform, select Campaign Manager under the ‘Amazon DSP’ Menu option on the left.
- Select the Account that you have used to push your audience to.
- Select the advertiser account that you used in your push from InfoSum
- Select ‘Audiences’ from the sub menu for the advertiser.
- Your audiences will appear under ‘Other Audiences’ and ‘DMP’
- Your DSP audiences may appear very quickly after push from InfosSum but may still take up to 24 hours to fully process and match with the AMC users.
Troubleshooting
- Minimum Audience Size: If the number of users uploaded to an audience is zero, this may be due to data validation issues or a small audience size. Make sure the audience size exceeds the minimum threshold of 1,000 users.
- Audience processing time: It may take around 24h to process an audience and for it to be available in your account.
