How to import data from Treasure Data to InfoSum
Overview of Treasure Data & InfoSum
The diagram below shows what can be done today.
Overview of the inbound stream: How to upload data from Treasure Data to InfoSum
Overview: How to export data from Treasure Data into InfoSum
To export your data from Treasure Data into InfoSum you must follow these steps.
You need to interact with both platforms. Start by using Treasure Data to define the data you want to export. Then, use InfoSum to create the Bunker.
As soon as you finalize the onboarding process, you are ready to start making the most of InfoSum’s data collaboration capabilities.
- Define the data you want to export from Treasure Data
Contact your Treasure Data Support Manager to set up everything correctly. - Setup the preferred connector
You can choose to export a CSV file from Treasure Data or use one of their destination integrations already available. InfoSum offers a connector for S3 bucket, SFTP server and Google Cloud Storage bucket. You can choose the preferred cloud location according to the technology you are using or have at your disposal. - Create the bunker in InfoSum and upload the file
Use the InfoSum Bunkers UI to create a bunker to upload the datasets. Normalize the dataset, mapping them easily to our Global Schema. - Start data collaboration in InfoSum
Use InfoSum Platform and the tools available to enable data collaboration. Build segments on your first party data to get enriched insights or to activate them in your campaigns.
1. Define the data you want to export from Treasure Data
Contact Treasure Data support if you have any questions or to validate the process.
You can select which data you want to export from the Treasure Data using one of the following methods:
2. Setup the preferred connector
You need to set up the correct connection to send your data from Treasure Data to InfoSum.
Contact Treasure Data support to confirm you have set up the connection correctly.
You can choose to export a CSV file from Treasure Data or use one of their destination integrations already available. InfoSum offers a connector for S3 bucket, SFTP server and Google Cloud Storage bucket. You can choose the preferred method according to the technology you are using or have at your disposal.
You will then be able to use the relative connector to easily upload the file into InfoSum.
3a. Create the Bunker
You need to create a Bunker in InfoSum. To do this, click the New Dataset button on the Dataset tab or click the plus sign shortcut on the top right which appears on every page of the Platform.
You are required to supply information in the following four sections:
- Size
- Location
- Type
- Details
Click here for more details on how to create a bunker and how to import a dataset.
3b. Select the correct import connector and bunker the file
Once you have created the Bunker, you can connect to that Bunker and let the bunker pull your data. The Bunker automatically opens on the Dashboard tab. Next, select Import a dataset and select the connector you chose to use (CSV upload, S3, SFTP or GCS).
See the following links for details on how to use each connector:
- Data connector for Amazon S3
- Data connector for Amazon S3 cross account
- Data connector for SFTP
- Data connector for GCS
Follow these steps to bunker your dataset:
- Select the source from where InfoSum will pull the data: CSV upload, GCS bucket, S3 bucket or SFTP server.
- Connect to your source by entering the credentials required or defining the details required.
- Download the file by selecting it from the list that appears or select it from your local folder.
At this step you must select the field delimiter used in the file (e.g. Comma) -
After clicking the download button, you will see a preview of the file.
At this step, if the file contains multi value columns, you must:
- Go to the Multi Value Delimiter panel and select the correct field delimiter.
- Click on the toggle next to each multi value column in the header row and enable the Multi value column by clicking on the slider associated and clicking Update.
Then accept the preview config.
-
Once you've accepted the preview configuration, you will need to assign a configuration to the dataset. You can create a new config, load a previously used config or upload a locally saved config. Click on the preferred button, a new table will be opened. At this step you will be asked to normalize the dataset. Start the normalization process. See normalizing a dataset for more details.
-
If you are satisfied with the results and no alert appears on the table shown in the Normalize step, click on the Normalize button and then Publish the dataset.
4. Start data collaboration in InfoSum
Once the dataset has been bunkered, it will be available in the InfoSum Platform to start collaboration.
