Overview: How to export data from Tealium into InfoSum
To export your data from Tealium Customer Data Hub into InfoSum you must follow these steps.
You need to interact with both platforms. Start by using Tealium’s tools to define the data you want to export and to generate the file to be exported. Then, use InfoSum to create the Bunkers and upload your files.
As soon as you finalize the onboarding process, you are ready to start making the most of InfoSum’s data collaboration capabilities.
- Set up your account on the Tealium Customer Data Hub to extract the data
Contact Tealium’s support team to set up everything correctly. - Push the final dataset to the S3 bucket
The file can be pushed to an S3 bucket owned by you or an S3 bucket provided by Tealium. InfoSum will use a connector to pull the file. - Create the Bunker in InfoSum and upload the files
Use the InfoSum Bunkers UI to create a Bunker to upload the datasets. Normalize the dataset, map it easily to our Global Schema. - Start data collaboration in InfoSum
Use InfoSum Platform and the tools available to enable data collaboration. Build segments on your first party data to get enriched insights or to activate them in your campaigns.
1. How to generate the file for use in InfoSum
There are two different ways to extract data from Tealium and use it in InfoSum depending on which modules of the Tealium Customer Data Hub you have.
The following two sections describe both ways of working in more detail.
1a. If you have only AudienceStream
In this scenario you can leverage the Tealium server-side connectors to stream, prepare and load data in real time to Amazon S3.
You can use one of the server-side connectors available to stream your data to Amazon S3. You can choose to work with AWS Data Firehose and use the relative connector. Amazon Firehose provides a simple way to capture, transform, and load streaming data to Amazon S3.
Tealium CDP offers a real-time turnkey integration with AWS Data Firehose (as well as AWS SQS).
If you have any questions on how to set up the data export from Tealium, please contact the Tealium support team.
1b. If you have AudienceStream and DataAccess
In this scenario you can leverage DataAccess to create and export a JSON file containing the data you want to have into the InfoSum Bunker.
InfoSum currently supports only CSV files, consequently a file transformation is required before you can bunker your data in InfoSum.
With the AudienceStore Connector, you can send visitor profile data to Tealium's Amazon S3 bucket. A visitor profile contains data pertinent to the visitor and their visit (excluding events). Rather than exporting one visitor profile at a time, you are leveraging Audiences to draw together a large number of visitor profiles that share common behaviors.
You will have a JSON file in the S3 that will be required to be translated into a CSV. At this point the InfoSum platform could be able to pull and then bunker the data.

2a. Create the Bunker
You must create a Bunker in InfoSum to be able to start connecting your data.
Create the dataset using the New Dataset button on the Dataset tab or use the plus sign shortcut in the top right which appears on every page throughout the Platform.
You are required to supply information on the following 4 sections:
- Size
- Location
- Type
- Details
Click here to find more details on how to create a Bunker and how to import a dataset.
In the following section you can see in more detail how to import the file into InfoSum.
2b. Import the file into the correspondent Bunker
Once you have created the Bunker, you can connect to that Bunker and import your data. The Bunker automatically opens on the Dashboard tab. Next, select Import a dataset and select the connector you chose to use (S3).
See the following link for details on how to use a:
Follow these steps to import the file:
- Select the source from where InfoSum will pull the data: S3 bucket.
- Connect to your source by entering the credentials required.
-
Download the file by selecting it from the list that appears.
At this step you must:
- Select as field delimiter the delimiter used in the file.
-
After clicking the Download button and then the Connect button, you will see a preview of the file.
If you are satisfied with the preview config you can accept it, otherwise you can make the changes you want and then accept the preview config.
-
Once you've accepted the preview configuration, you will need to assign a configuration to the dataset. Click on create a new config, a new table will be opened. If you have already saved a config, you can use the one you saved.
At this step you can:
- Accept the suggestions made by the Platform for mapping categories to the Global Schema.
- Define custom categories.
- Use the slider to enable columns as Key.
Then accept the wizard settings.
-
At this step, you can complete the normalization process. If you are satisfied with the results and no alert appears on the table shown in the Normalize step, click on the Normalize button and then Publish the dataset.
3. Start to collaborate with your data
InfoSum enables you to connect and extend the performance of your own proprietary data.
There are different ways you can start collaboration using InfoSum, you can access different tools that allow you to start collaborating.
You can use the Audience Builder and the Segment Builder to create the segment you want to target in your campaigns based on enriched insights or to get useful insights on.
You can use the Connections List or the Connections Grid to evaluate the overlap between your datasets/audience/segments and Partner’s to better plan your media activities.
